Hi parents!
I did a lot of work in our classroom last week after school and made some phone calls home and I forgot to update our blog. I'm going to work hard to update the blog twice a week. I'll also try to use Twitter more often for quicker updates. I wanted to share a few things with you that we did this week in our classroom and a few things that we could use your help with.
First, it would be really helpful if you could help your students learn your phone numbers. I know that I have most parents' phone numbers in our classroom, but if your student goes to the nurse and the nurse needs to reach you, or we need to get in touch with you after school it's a huge time saver for your children to know your number.
Secondly, this coming Wednesday (September 7th) is Back to School Night from 6-8p. I would love for everyone to come to Back to School Night and see our classroom and the work we've been doing. This past week we created our hopes and dreams (a first grade goal), which are now hanging in the hallway. We also wrote stories last week that will be on display during Back to School Night.
I hope you had a great long weekend! One last reminder--school starts daily at 8:40. If your student needs to eat breakfast at school they need to be at school at 8:30 to give them enough time to eat before school starts. We start learning as soon as we get up to our room and students who come late often miss the first assignment we do each day.
Thanks for all your help!
